Science Bowl


The National Science Bowl® and its regional competitions are math and science competitions among teams of high school students (grades 9-12) throughout the country. Texas A&M University is one of 65 host sites for this year's Science Bowl regional competitions. The program is designed to encourage students and teachers to achieve educational excellence in the sciences. The fast-paced question-and-answer categories are Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Energy, Mathematics, and Physics.

Team Entry Fee

There is a $75 non-refundable entry fee per team at the Texas A&M Regional Science Bowl.


Payments submitted without documentation will be RETURNED to sender. Documentation (invoice, registration confirmation, etc.) MUST accompany payment.


The Texas A&M Regional Science Bowl champions win an expense-paid trip to compete for the national title in the U.S. Department of Energy's National Science Bowl®. Trophies and medals are also awarded to the top 4 teams at the Texas A&M Regional Science Bowl.

The national events are several days of science activities, sightseeing, and competitions. Teams enjoy the entire science bowl experience and take home many prizes. There are cutting-edge science seminars and hands-on science activities.

Code of Ethics

The goal of competition is to give one's best effort while displaying honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. Students, coaches, parents and guests are expected to display courtesy and respect toward Science Bowl officials, other teams, and guests of the Regional Science Bowl. Failure to show honesty and/or courtesy by a participant, coach or guest of the team may result in the disqualification of the team.

Judging Support

Educational Outreach and Women's Programs realizes that in any competition, differences of opinion about the judges’ interpretations may occur. It is the policy of the Outreach Programs to support the interpretations and final decisions of the judges panel.
